Compressed air is one of industry’s most important utilities. Yet, without proper air treatment, your compressed air system cannot deliver its full potential. Virtually all free-air contains water in the form of water vapor. When air is compressed to 100 psi, the water vapor is concentrated to about 8 times the normal amount! Water vapor is not an issue in compressed air until temperatures drops and condenses it into droplets of water. Then, it combines with other contaminants and causes wet air, freeze-ups, leaks, and corrosion. To protect your air system from damage caused by water, you must remove enough water vapor from your compressed air to bring its dew point down to a temperature lower than the compressed air will encounter at any point in the system. To get clean, dry, instrument quality air that means trouble-free operation for your compressed air system, choose an air dryer to fit your needs.
